Jeffrey A. Potteiger, Ph.D., FACSM, is the Dean of Graduate Studies at Grand Valley State University. He completed his Ph.D. at Auburn University and has been a faculty member at Indiana State University, the University of Kansas, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Miami University.  He is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the American Physiological Society, and he is a fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. His primary professional interests involve the metabolic response to exercise and the use of resistance training to improve health. He and his wife, Ellen, have one son, Tate and one daughter Caroline.
